Pivot Powers Your Swing with Scott Hamilton

HOW SHOULD YOU PIVOT YOUR BODY IN YOUR BACK SWING?

Scott Hamilton, PGA Tour Coach shares a great lesson on how to make a proper pivot in your back swing. Your pivot is the most important element of your full swing. This is the axis of motion and power. You want your pivot to take place as if you were standing inside of a garbage can. You don't want to sway. You want your trailing side pocket to wrap around you. In fact, a great drill to develop this feeling is to assume your golf posture and place you rear end against a wall. Your trailing cheek should literally slide down the wall. Getting your pivot right will dramatically cut down on a wide number of swing faults that all originate from excessive sway in your backswing.
