HOW DO YOU IMPROVE YOUR PITCHING IN GOLF?
If you have struggled with pitching the golf ball, there's a very good chance that your golf club is coming around your body too quickly and on too flat of a swing plane. Director of Golf, Scott Bunker presents the "plane pitching drill" to help ensure that your swing plane on your pitch shots is not too shallow, but is instead, more up and down on the same plane.
PROPER SETUP FOR PITCHING CAN BE ACHIEVED WITH THE HELP OF A SIMPLE ALIGNMENT STICK TRAINING AID
If you are struggling with your pitching, one of the most common problems is that in your backswing the club has come around too quickly in too flat of a swing plane. A great way to test and then address a shallow backswing is with a simple alignment stick training aid placed into the ground just behind you as demonstrated in the video. The alignment stick will be placed at a relatively steep - 70 to 80 degree angle. The goal is to keep your golf club on a steeper plane in your takeaway, backswing and then back through on the same plane in your downswing and at contact.
